Hey There
Hi, my name is Michelle.
Well, ok, as a child my parents always called me Mickey. They thought that Michelle was way to formal for the little blond tom girl that liked to make mud pies and play outside. As a grownup, friends and family still call me Mickey, but honestly, I answer to both.
As a child I wanted to be an astronaut, I loved science fiction, and there was always something magical about what is out there beyond my reach.
Discovering I could see more from my camera than my own eyes made me realize I had found my calling. Why not follow me along on my journey, maybe we can find a little space person to share a mud pie with.
Southern Alberta based photographer, Michelle Kimura, began her photography journey in 2009 photographing flowers in her back yard. From flowers she progressed to automotive, family, wedding and newborn photography.
Switching gears when the pandemic began she began to shoot Alberta sunrises and sunsets before evolving into Milky Way Photography.
Today she is combining her agricultural experience with scenes of the Milky Way.
Blending the two together she showcases her unique baby boomer view and local country vistas with the child who felt safe to play out in the dark.
“I invite the viewer to come along and sense the wonder I feel while out in the dark when the stars shine bright..”
— Michelle Kimura
