Star Rockets

This night, oh, this night. This was the night that started my journey of star gazing.

The stars aligned, there was no wind. I could hear coyotes howling far in the distance. The slight tick and popping noise as the truck motor cooled. There was the scent of earth beginning to slumber after a long hot summer. The air was chilling and the wind had died down.

It was still.

I could see the shadow of the Milky Way with my eyes, it was there, right where I knew it should be.

What a magical feeling, to know that light from thousands of years ago was spilling across my little piece of the planet.

Worries, stress and doubt fall away, there is peace in the moment.
